On Saturday 22nd September 2024, a bridge was constructed to enable access to Kunstverein* Aughrim. This workshop-day prototyped and tested a temporary structure that could live in/as a door and transform into a ramp. This was architecture studio Howff’s creative response to the problem of access to the building. A newspaper - Building a (Draw)bridge - documenting the workshop was later published. A conversation about the project, included in the publication is available to read here.
* Kunstverein, from the German word ‘kunst’ meaning ‘art’ and ‘verein’ meaning ‘club’ or ‘association’, is a curatorial production office for contemporary art projects located on the ground floor of a townhouse in the village of Aughrim, County Wicklow.
